ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is one of the most widespread amorphous plastics. It is a type of thermoplastic used for the production of various types of light and solid products, such as tubes, toys, boxes, etc. ABS is stable in a large temperature range of -20°C to +80°C without additional additives.
ABS is characterized by relatively high rigidity, flexibility, impact resistance, easy machining, low weight and scratch resistance.
ABS is also one of the most popular materials used in 3D printing for making conceptual models, prototypes or mock-ups. The products made with this technology match in properties up to 80% compared to the same, but made by injection molding technology. When working with ABS for 3D printing, a working range of 235°C - 255°C is recommended, and it is necessary to heat the printer bed up to 90°C - 120°C. As a disadvantage of ABS, only slight smell can be attributed to the printing process.
